About Us
"We are on a Journey in Advancing Road Ecology Research for Sustainable Progress"
Our journey began with a question: Can progress and nature coexist? Driven by curiosity and passion, we’re on a mission to reshape our world by uncovering the mysteries of linear infrastructure’s impact. Through collaboration, dedication, and relentless pursuit of knowledge, we’re at the intersection of science and progress, working for a sustainable future.

Meet Our Founder
Dishane Hewavithana
Meet Dishane Hewavithana, the driving force behind our research initiative. Holding a BSc Hons in Zoology from the University of Colombo, an MSc in Fish and Wildlife Management from the University of Peradeniya, and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Miami, Dishane is fueled by a lifelong passion for conservation.
She currently works as a postdoctoral associate at Florida International University, Miami, USA, focusing on climate change resilience in urban communities. In pursuit of her conservation passion, she’s actively engaged in researching linear infrastructure ecology in Sri Lanka in collaboration with local partner agencies and organizations. Dishane is a valued member of the IUCN World Commission on Protected Areas’ Connectivity Conservation Specialist Group, where she plays an integral role in the Asian Elephant Transport Working Group and Transport Working Group (TWG) thematic groups. Recognized with the prestigious Presidential Award for Environmental Pioneers, Dishane’s mission is to harmonize economic progress with the preservation of our homeland’s biodiversity and ecological wealth. Join us in our shared commitment to building a more sustainable future through this research initiative.
